The winter so cold the blankets so cozy
Wrapped colorful packages create wonder in children’s eyes
The world is asleep yet we celebrate
Home made cookies are shared like the love for one another

I loved Candide it was kind of like making fun of a classic novel and it wasn’t your average novel. it moved along quickly which I liked. i felt like he would go somewhere with someone and they would die then with someone else and they would die, and everyone who you thought was dead wasn’t. Candide was also extremely lucky even when he was unlucky. I thought the ending was funny but I don’t want to spoil it. I really liked the writing style.
From fairest creatures we desire increase,
That thereby beauty’s rose might never die, Beautiful imagery
But as the riper should by time decease,
His tender heir might bear his memory:
But thou, contracted to thine own bright eyes, Feed’st thy light’s flame with self-substantial fuel, Being pretentious
Making a famine where abundance lies,
Thyself thy foe, to thy sweet self too cruel. And evil
Thou that art now the world’s fresh ornament
And only herald to the gaudy spring,
Within thine own bud buriest thy content
And, tender churl, makest waste in niggarding.
Pity the world, or else this glutton be,
To eat the world’s due, by the grave and thee.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of the novel Of Mice and Men mainly because I couldnt empathise with lennie’s charachter, so his charachter kind of annoyed me from the get go. I also didn’t like they way John Steinbeck wrote in a southern accent for the charachters words example instead of writing alright it would say awright. It took me longer to read and process, and i already understood the southern setting. The end of the book was sad and touching, but i found no lesson or reason for it.
